What if the bloody monthly pains are caused by these dark creatures?

What’s left is an empty void - a constant reminder of how your body is incomplete. When the uterus is gone, the idea of ever giving birth to new life is gone forever. Grief is supposed to be a path for acceptance, letting go of the lives that could have been, and putting them to rest.

These are manifestations of what could have been if my uterus is still here but gave birth to creatures of the dark.

This is the story of my acceptance and grieving, intertwined with relevant beliefs from the myths and superstitions of my heritage - the Philippines.

A permanent decision.

The unexpected grief and turmoil.

An acceptance.

A resting place.
